what surprised me most is that at first the kids were a bit rude to each other at first but as time started to pass the kids started to put a little more effort into things. some of the kids may have been selfish because they thought that just because there was no one around then they were able to do anything they wanted. when every one split into teams it was unfair because of the different amounts of money they get and for an example sophia was the only one really putting in an effort to do things and she only got paid 10 cents for doing all the work she did. This show is similar to lord of the flies because in these type of situations you have to work together in order to survive. yes i would allow mt child to be placed in this enviroment so that they can learn about what life really is about and how hard they have to work just to survive in the world. yes this show does show reality because if you want something then your going to have to work for it.

This show has some similarities, but the craziest thing is how it's willing. They we're put into the game opposed to crash landing on the island. They have a lot of the similar roles as seen in the book. A leader, someone who's in charge of more labor, and someone who's really just the brains going along for the ride. Although they have tensions, just like the book, they don't seem real. There all messing around in similar ways, but the actual fights that come from conflict look very different. In the book, they fight but their tactics of revenge aren't quite as thought out. In the book, petty fights ensue, but the drastic methods in the show seem way to fake to have been come up with by the children. This is also shown because their situation isn't as life threatening, so they have more time to focus on things like that opposed to LOTF where they at least have some semblance of focus on survival.

One thing that stood out to me in the episode was how quickly they established a leadership role. The kids didn't have an election or contest to see who should be the leader. Comparing the episode to the LOTF there are a few differences. For starters in the book there no adults there at all. The boys have to figure out a system completely on their own. Another difference I noticed was the kids were given food and recipes that could be prepared, while in the book the boys had to hunt and prepare their food on their own. The environment was completely different when you compare the show to the book.
I personally would let my kid participate in this show. I feel that the show seems like a great experience that not many get to have. I also think the show is a great learning experience for children. It can help kids really appreciate what they already have.

Some things that stood out to me were how the kids were very responsible and started to work and have jobs for each other from the start. Even if the kids were very responsible in the beginning it did not last. Soon the kids were just trying to survive and get food. This is very similar to lord of the flies because the kids are also in roles and have jobs, but chaos has taken over them as well. One difference is that these kids can go home back to their families, unlike the kids trapped on an island. I would not put my children in a situation like this because they will get stressed and make poor uneducated decisions. Matters like this are hard for kids to understand and should not be used. Finally this show does not show reality because there is a host and camera crew that would be able to help if something went wrong.
