There is no real significance in my name. My parents ended up liking the name Makenzie and didn't spell it with a c to avid nicknames like Mac. There wasn't a boy name option because they knew I was a girl prior to brainstorming name ideas. Piggy is the smartest of the kids and yet is still thrown to the curb because he is seen as the underdog due to his weight and him being a "nerd." In most cases society shows the powerful one as the jock or people with physical power. Piggy's name represents being fat and they are seen as intellectual animals.

The name Emeli has a story behind it. Being, my name was supposed to be Emalia but my great grandmothers name was Emily and she wouldv'e gotten mad if it wasnt close to her name. It's spelt different because my parents wanted me to be unique.I honeslty wish I was names Emelia because it kinda flows and looks pretty in cursive. But, I still get called Emalia sometimes since my middle name is Malia. If I was a boy my name wouldv'e been Erik because my dad's best friend who passed away was named Erik. In the novel LOTF, the character Piggy represents a big role. He shows the brains or nerd of the group since he's smart but also gets picked on by the other boys. He represents people in today's society because the boys know his ideas are smart and make sense but they don't listen since he is the small and wierd kid.

1) My first name does not have much significance, my parents just heard it and liked the sound of it, but my middle name, Kali, is the name of a Hindu goddess that symbolizes the cycle of life and death. I like my name because not many people have the same one but people mispronounce it often so that is a downside. If I was born a boy, my parents would have named me Zayn because she likes names that start with the letter "Z". 2) Piggy's name in the novel Lord of the Flies symbolizes the people in the society that are marginalized due to their appearance and lack of physical ability. It symbolizes this through the fact that Piggy is overweight and is not loud and outspoken like Jack and Ralph. Golding is making a statement about the values of society.

A. My name has been passed down from my fathers' side of the family, Joseph is the name of my great grandfather. Joseph was chosen because, at the time, my grandma on my mothers' side was highly religious; His story is one of the most recallable in the bible. so both sides of the family agreed. though I don't see Joseph as a bad name, it doesn't suit me well, mostly because of my beliefs as an atheist. so the nick-name Joey was given to me at a fairly young age. most everyone thought I was going to grow out of it around my teen years but so far, I don't dislike the name one bit! asking if I was born a girl, my name would have been Julia; still having biblical lore behind it, it is also the name of my great-grandma on my moms' side. B. for this, my character of choice is Jack. He, in my eyes is envious of Ralph time and time again, always questioning if he's fit to be a leader and whining when no power was gifted to him at all. After gaining followers in chapter 7, he starts to command the boys, the book describes him as a king who sits atop a throne. with these in mind, I think that Jack easily can be compared to someone like Hitler, or Joseph Stalin, who had a major uprising for the better of the people, just for it to end in chaos. this starts to come to fruition with the death of Simon, whom the group had mistaken for a monster and gruesomely killed by letting him fall off a cliff into the ocean. Showing that with Jack in charge now, the group is rapidly dehumanizing. this could be compared to the revolution of Russia, or the treatment of those under Nazi rule. Golding, in this case, is showing the inhumane parts of man, leading to insanity and disorder coming from roots of fear and a drive for satisfaction.

1) I got my name from my grandma after not having a name for 2 days while in the hospital. she just came up with the name out of no where and kinda just blurted it out. There’s really no “significance” to my name. But a lot of people mispronounce my name all the time , even my friends sometimes. Other than people mispronouncing my name i do enjoy my name. It’s kinda cool seeing the different versions of kierra be spelled & pronounced from different cultures. If I was a boy I would of probably been named after my farther, because he is named after his dad.
2) Jack represents the “jocks” at a school. The choir would be his teammates, while jack would be the captain of the team. I say this because sports and teams represent unity and structure. Teams also have uniform and the captain always some how sticks out. For example in volleyball the captain would normally be the libero because they’re in the game at all times. The libero is always the one with the opposite color jersey as the other teammates. The “jocks” also always expect to run or be the leader of something. They are sometimes chosen to be the leader by force or fear.

A. My name was chosen by my parents simply just because they liked it. There's really no significance to it at all. They just thought it was a pretty name. If I were to be born a male rather than a female I would've been named "Armando" like my dad and be a jr. As a matter of fact, my little brother's name is Armando so I'm sure if I would've been the firstborn as a male that would've been my name. B. Piggy's name is used as a rude nickname ( given by Ralph ) towards him because of his weight since they use that against him. What I mean is that whenever he has a good idea or has something in mind others don't take it into consideration since its "Piggy". Although he is smart and has good ideas no one ever believes in him or hears him out. Regardless of how he's treated he's always kind and caring towards others.

A.) My name Kylie means graceful, beautiful, and has the Australian meaning of boomerang. There is not a specific reason why my parents named me this, more so because they just liked the name. My parents also liked the name Emily or Page but they ended up choosing Kylie. I like my name, but some people have a hard time spelling it. I have experienced people spelling my name “Killey”, “Kiley”, “Kyley”, etc. If I were a boy, my parents would have named me Kevin. B.) In the book “Lord Of The Flies”, Piggy is a very important character. I think that he symbolizes the intellectual group in society. Throughout the novel, Piggy is one of the only characters that really thinks this through and rationalizes instead of just acting upon his instincts. Although Piggy is one of the smartest boys on the island, he is not always listened to. I think that Goulding is trying to say that even though intelligence is a powerful tool, it is perceived by society to be unimportant or weak.

A: My name does not have any significance because it is not after one of my parents. My parents liked the name Jacob, or Jake, and decided that's what they would name me. My name means "the supplanter" and comes from Hebrew roots. The name is also in the bible as well. I like my name but would have preferred to have a different middle name. I am not a fan of the name Mathew and it is my middle name. If I was a girl my name would have been Megan.
B: Piggy's name symbolized what he is appeared to be and what the group things about him. Golding portrays him as a pig due to his weight, and how all the boys think he is dirty and gross. Even though pigs are very smart animals they are stereotyped and so was piggy. His smarts do not help him win the boys respect because on the island you have to be tough to survive.

My name doesn't have any real significance to it. My parents just wanted to give me a "normal" name. According to Google my name means manly and brave. I don't really dislike my name, but I wouldn't say that I particularly like it. I don't know what my name would be if I was a girl.
In the Lord of the Flies, Piggy's name has a lot of meaning. At first, the kids call him piggy because of his size and his appearance. He is a very inteligent character, but lacks physical ability. Because of this the boys don't take him seriously. The boys just push piggy's ideas aside because of the way he looks which is a common thing that the author is trying to portray through the character of piggy.

a.) My name means, "God is my judge." I guess my parents chose that name because it is a Christian name and my parents are Christians. I don't really like my name, but I don't hate it either. it's just a name and I'm fine with it. I don't know what my name would've been if I was born the opposite sex and my parents wouldn't know either. b). Piggy represents the good in society. He is smart and uses his rationality before making decisions. His name is the name Piggy, and in this case, his name represents his physical appearance, he is chubby. Golding is saying that people tend to throw away rational thought and then eventually replace it with chaos and hate. No one listened to Piggy and understood or cared what he had to say. When people stopped listening to piggy, chaos and hate eventually took over.

A) I'm named after the city in Wisconsin. If I were a boy I think I would have been named Logan. I do like my name, I think that it fits me well. B) In LOTF, I think that Jack is a symbol of the power-hungry and evil people in our society. From the very beginning of the book, he's wanted the power that Ralph has. He's always wanted to be in charge and took control of the hunting on the island to have some control. As the book goes on, Jack becomes less and less human. He becomes more inhuman and starts to give in to the evil around him. With this character, Golding is saying that all humans have evil inside of them and often situations like the one on the island can bring this evil out and even cause the evil to consume us.

A. The significance of my name is the fact that my name comes straight from the bible. The prophet Isaiah is the supposed writer of the book of Isaiah and is part of the old testament. The meaning of my name is "to save" which means that I am supposed to be sympathetic and tend to protect those from danger or tragedy. My parents actually named me after the Detroit Pistons champion Isiah Thomas because of reasons that I still don't know. If I was the opposite sex I would be names Erene Robles which I have no clue as to why I would be named that. I guess I would be named after one of my great aunts.
B. Simon is the only character that truly listens to both sides of an argument. He is the one we all aspire to be because you cant hate him no matter how hard you try. When someone listens to both sides of an argument you know that they aren't biased and you know that you can trust them to tell you the truth and a full evaluation of the situation. Golding is making a statement through Simon by saying that people who listen to everything and people who take everything into consideration are the people who are the most respected as well as the most hated. They give you the truth no matter if the truth is what you want to hear or not.

A. My name came from the bible, my family doesn't go with one religion we follow; although we are spiritual. My mom wanted a strong female from almost the beggining of time. They found Mary Magdalene and they found they really liked the name. My brothers name is Matthias; also from the bible, would probably have been my name if i was the opposite sex. The second option my parents really liked it Alexandra but Magdalena was the final decision.
B.In the book, Piggy plays a big role. in the novel, the name has many reputations behind it. The pigs are extremely smart.
